TO ALL ALABAMA WING MEMBERS,
As of 10:35 am, the Alabama Wing has been requested to Stand-down from full alert status by the Alabama State EMA.
We currently have two SDIS aircraft conducting aerial recon work over Prattville and Russell County.
There is no expected work to be done by the Ground Teams or Mission Base Staff at this time.
All missing people, including two Maxwell Squadron Cadets have been located and are safe and unharmed.
I want to thank everyone that contacted me to let me know that they have air crews, ground teams, comm, or staff members, if needed. We had about a 80% contact from the units that they could respond if needed. This really looks good to our customers that we can deploy so many professional so rapidly.
I especially want to thank the Maxwell Squadron for their full response (both air crew and ground team) in light of having several of their members missing or their property damaged.
Everyone enjoy your holiday, if you are off of work today. I plan on taking a nap later. This was a very short night.
Once again thanks for all of your response and work to be ready.
Please continue to pray and keep those that have lost their homes, business, or property in your thoughts as they start the long road back.
John P. Neil, Major
Director of Operations
